Continuing Education Requirement

“In order to maintain valid certification, every two years each certified animal control officer must complete 4 hours of post-certification continuing education training. Such training may include, but is not limited to training for animal cruelty investigations, search and seizure, animal handling, courtroom demeanor, and civil citations.” – Chapter 828.27(4)(a)(4) Florida Statutes.

The American Animal Cruelty Investigations School (AACIS) 4-hour online course is designed specifically for Florida animal control officers seeking to fulfill their continuing education unit (CEU) requirements. This self-paced program covers essential topics in animal welfare, investigation techniques, and legal standards, ensuring officers remain up to date with industry best practices and Florida state regulations. This is a solution for officers who need to maintain their certification and advance their skills without the need for in-person attendance.

Animal control officers will have seven (7) days to complete the course once they enroll. Your results are automatically reported to the training institution that maintains your training records.

This 4-hour online course is designed to meet Florida’s continuing education requirement for certified Animal Control Officers. The course provides a convenient, self-paced way for officers to stay current on essential knowledge and skills needed for effective animal control work in Florida.
